Biography
Associate Professor Kristen Ranse, RN, PhD is a Registered Nurse and experienced academic. Kristen is engaged in research to improve the quality of care for patients at the end-of-life and their families, that is culturally and contextually appropriate. Her program of research aims to support clinicians to engage in skilled compassionate care for patients at the end-of-life and their families. A focus of this work is affording appropriate treatment and care to patients at the right time and facilitating patient and family centred care across diverse care settings and during patient transitions between settings. Collaborative research partnerships with health services ensure research is targeted to current needs and provides contextually relevant solutions to real world problems. Kristen has research experience and expertise in quantitative, qualitative and mixed methods research including survey development. Kristen pursues theory-informed research, selecting the methodological research approach and using innovative research methods best suited to answer the research question(s) posed.Personal details
