Biography
Dr Elliroma Gardiner is a registered Organisational Psychologist and Associate Professor at QUT Business School whose work sits at the intersection of work, wellbeing and social equity. Her research focuses on workforce participation among older workers, with a growing emphasis on housing insecurity and housing literacy for individuals aged 55+, particularly women. This program addresses a critical but under-recognised social issue in Australia, generating evidence that informs service delivery, policy discussions and community practice. Through applied, community-engaged research, her work contributes to improving access to housing information, strengthening support systems and informing interventions for vulnerable populations. Her broader research continues to examine how individual and contextual factors shape employment outcomes, with findings published in leading journals such as Psychological Bulletin, Human Resource Management Journal, Personnel Review and Journal of Personality, and her work featured in outlets including Time, ABC Radio and The Telegraph.
Alongside her research, she brings extensive international academic and industry engagement, having taught and collaborated across Australia, Europe and Asia, including roles at the London School of Economics and IÉSEG School of Management. She is also co-author of Mastering AI for Strategic Business Success, an internationally adopted text that integrates artificial intelligence with strategic management and supports the development of future-focused business capability. Her work is characterised by a strong commitment to real-world impact, combining interdisciplinary research, global collaboration and digitally enabled education to address complex workforce and societal challenges.
