Climate scientist in the Australian bush

Are you passionate about sustainability? Concerned about the impacts of climate change and keen to learn more about how we can address issues like heat waves, increased droughts, and flooding?

So are we!

The good news is you don’t have to be a climate scientist to study climate science. We need all types of professionals onboard to drive society-wide change. That’s why we’ve made it easy for all students to dive into this important topic, regardless of their degree or major.

So how do we do this?

At QUT, we call it a uni-wide minor. It’s a collection of units, making up 48 credit points, covering topics like climate science, communication or entrepreneurship. So, for example, a Science student can add a Journalism minor to their degree, and a Mathematics student can tailor their studies with a Forensics and Data Analytics minor.

With climate change being a huge challenge to the sustainability of life on Earth, there is a rapidly growing demand for expertise in the area. QUT students who add a climate science minor to their degree learn about Earth-ocean-atmosphere interaction, global change, sustainability and air quality, and climate change mitigation measures.

But if you are ready to dive deep into climate science and specialise in this particular area, our new Bachelor of Science (Climate Science) could be your perfect course!
