Workshops and activities for home-schooled students.
The Faculty of Engineering at QUT is committed to providing meaningful and inspiring engineering, design, and construction management opportunities for all young learners, including those who are home educated. We recognise that homeschooled students and their families can sometimes feel excluded from traditional school-based programs, and we want to ensure your community knows that our engagement activities are open and accessible to homeschoolers.
Our programs for Year 7–12 students are designed to spark curiosity, build real-world skills, and offer hands-on experiences across engineering, architecture, and the built environment. These activities welcome students from all learning pathways and backgrounds and can be accessed on campus, in classrooms, onsite, or virtually.
Information for Homeschool Parents and Coordinators
To ensure we can deliver the highest-quality experience and allocate resources effectively, we encourage homeschool families, co-ops, and community networks to book into activities as groups of 15 students or more wherever possible.
This helps us meet minimum participation requirements, confirms session viability, and allows students to gain the full benefit of group-based engineering challenges and workshops.
Smaller groups are still welcome to enquire, and our team will work with you wherever possible to find a suitable session.
Join Us at QUT
We invite homeschooled learners to book into our events and become part of the vibrant and inclusive STEM community at QUT. Our Faculty Engagement Team is available to support families and homeschooling networks in finding activities that suit their needs. All activities below are accessible for homeschooled students:
- Power of Engineering
- Engineering Workshops
- Design Workshops
- Future Cities Lab (Lego City) (coming soon)
We look forward to welcoming homeschooled students to QUT and supporting their exploration of engineering and STEM.
