A program for female students in high school
The Power of Engineering program is an initiative designed to inspire and engage female students to explore the field of engineering and related STEM careers. We offer this program to young women in years 7-12. The program includes engineering-related workshops, presentations from engineers, and, where possible, site visits to showcase the real-world applications of engineering and its potential to solve global challenges.
Power of Engineering aims to:
Break Stereotypes: Address misconceptions about engineering being male-dominated or solely technical by highlighting diverse career opportunities.
Increase Awareness: Expose students to various engineering disciplines, such as environmental, biomedical, mechanical, and civil engineering.
Provide Role Models: Offer opportunities to meet and interact with professional engineers, especially women, to inspire students through real-life success stories.
Foster Problem-Solving Skills: Engage participants in practical, hands-on activities to demonstrate the creative and impactful nature of engineering work.
In collaboration with industry partners and academics, we offer Power of Engineering once per term* to provide more opportunities for young women to learn more about the world of engineering. Please select from the following to book in for Power of Engineering.
