Eligibility details

You must:

  • be graduating Year 12, or have had no more than 2 gap years since graduating high school
  • be starting university for the first time
  • be the highest-ranking student in one of the additional entry courses within the Creative Industries Faculty for 2013. An additional entry course is any course that requires an audition or portfolio as part of the entry requirements.

You must be one of:

  • an Australian or New Zealand citizen
  • a permanent resident
  • the holder of a permanent humanitarian visa
  • an international student who has completed high school in Australia.

What you receive

You'll receive:

  • one of 12 scholarships worth $6,500 each. The scholarship will be paid as a study stipend of $2,166 after the HECS-HELP census date of each semester for the first three semesters of your course.

How to apply

There is no application process.

We will choose the scholarship recipients from the pool of Creative Industries course applications as stipulated in eligibility details.

If you're a high achieving student and you're interested in a Creative Industries course, we recommend you also apply for the Vice-Chancellor's Scholarship (Academic).

What happens next

We will choose the scholarship recipients from the pool of Creative Industries course applications.

If you are successful, we will notify you by 21 December 2012.

Conditions

You must:

  • remain enrolled full-time
  • maintain a grade point average (GPA) of 5.00 or higher in each semester.

You can:

  • take a leave of absence for up to 12 months (in accordance with QUT student rules), but only after you have completed one full-time semester of study. You won't receive scholarship payments during this time.

You can't:

  • defer your scholarship offer. If you defer your course, you can reapply for the Vice-Chancellor's Scholarship the following year, provided that you haven't undertaken university study in the meantime
  • hold any other scholarship, except an Equity Scholarship. If you have any questions about holding other scholarships, contact the Scholarships Coordinator.
