The focus of this unit is the introduction of the theory and techniques that underpin dynamic systems analysis and control system engineering, including: transfer function representations, stability, steady-state behaviour, and frequency response. These techniques form the basis for the root-locus and proportional-integral-derivative (PID) controller design techniques introduced later in the unit. Together, these concepts and analysis tools provide a solid foundation to develop real-world controllers to achieve the desired transient and steady-state behaviour. This is a capstone unit that builds on the earlier dynamics units (EGB321 Dynamics of Machines, EGB211 Dynamics).","title-full":"EGH421 Vibration and Control","title-short":"Vibration and Control","url":{"current":"https://qutvirtual4.qut.edu.au/group/student/enrolment/units/unit?unitCode=EGH421&year=2022","prospective":"https://www.qut.edu.au/study/unit?unitCode=EGH421","timetable":"https://qutvirtual3.qut.edu.au/qvpublic/ttab_unit_search_p.process_teach_period_search?p_unit_cd=EGH421"},"year":2022,"years":[2022]}
