What you'll receive

You'll receive:

  • a scholarship valued at $20,000 each. This scholarship will be paid as a study stipend of $5,000 after the HECS-HELP census date of each semester for the first four semesters of your course ($10,000 per year)
  • automatic membership into QUT's College of Excellence.

Eligibility

You must:

You must also be one of the following:

  • an Australian citizen or Australian Permanent Humanitarian Visa Holder
  • an Australian Permanent Resident, New Zealand citizen, or international student who has completed Year 12 in Australia.

This scholarship is offered in Semester 1, 2026.

For acting you will be considered based on your acting audition.

For animation, visual arts, creative writing, drama, film and screen, and music you will be considered based on your academic and creative excellence during your school studies.

Preference may be given to Indigenous Australian applicants.

If you're interested in a course that isn't eligible for this scholarship, you may be eligible for the QUT Excellence Scholarship (Academic) instead.

How to apply

You do not need to complete a scholarship application for the QUT Excellence Scholarship (Creative Arts). All eligible students who complete a QTAC application in line with QTAC key dates with an eligible creative arts QUT course as their first preference will be considered.

What happens next?

Due to the large volume of applications received, we'll only notify students who are successful in being offered a scholarship.

Conditions

To keep your scholarship, you must maintain an overall grade point average (GPA) of 5.00 or higher each semester.

You can:

  • be enrolled either full-time or part-time
  • take a leave of absence for up to two years but only after you have completed one full-time semester of study. You won't receive scholarship payments during this time.

You can't:

  • defer your scholarship offer
  • hold any other scholarship, except an Equity Scholarship. If you have any questions about holding multiple scholarships concurrently, contact us via email scholarships@qut.edu.au.
