Scholarship details
What you'll receive
You'll receive:
- a scholarship valued at $20,000 each. This scholarship will be paid as a study stipend of $5,000 after the HECS-HELP census date of each semester for the first four semesters of your course ($10,000 per year)
- automatic membership into QUT's College of Excellence.
Eligibility
You must be one of:
- an Australian or New Zealand citizen
- a permanent resident
- a holder of a permanent humanitarian visa
- an international student studying the Australian Year 12 curriculum, either in Australia or overseas.
You must also:
- be starting university for the first time in 2025
- have placed one of the eligible Creative Arts courses as your first preference on your QTAC application at the time of the main December and main January admissions offer rounds:
- CA01 Bachelor of Creative Arts
- CA02 Bachelor of Creative Arts (Acting)
- ID49 Bachelor of Creative Arts / Bachelor of Behavioural Science (Psychology)
- ID57 Bachelor of Education (Secondary) / Bachelor of Creative Arts
- ID58 Bachelor of Creative Arts / Bachelor of Laws (Honours)
- ID59 Bachelor of Business / Bachelor of Creative Arts
- receive a QUT offer in your first preference.
For Acting you will be considered based on your acting audition. For Animation, Visual Arts, Creative Writing, Drama, Film and Screen, and Music you will be considered based on your academic and creative excellence during your school studies.
Preference may be given to Indigenous Australian applicants.
If you're interested in a course that isn't eligible for this scholarship, you may be eligible for the QUT Excellence Scholarship (Academic) instead.
How to apply
You do not need to complete a scholarship application for the QUT Excellence Scholarship (Creative Arts). All eligible students who complete a QTAC application and the individual audition or portfolio requirements as listed on each course page in line with QTAC key dates with a QUT course as their first preference will be considered.
Other scholarships at QUT may require you to complete a separate application form. For further information, refer to the scholarships listed above or view our scholarships.
What happens next?
We'll make scholarship offers from December 2024 to January 2025.
Due to the large volume of applications received, we'll only notify students who are successful in being offered a scholarship. We won't consider appeals for unsuccessful applications.
Conditions
To keep your scholarship, you must:
- maintain an overall grade point average (GPA) of 5.00 or higher each semester.
You can:
- be enrolled either full-time or part-time
- take a leave of absence for up to two years but only after you have completed one full-time semester of study. You won't receive scholarship payments during this time.
You can't:
- defer your scholarship offer
- hold any other scholarship, except an Equity Scholarship. If you have any questions about holding multiple scholarships concurrently, contact us at scholarships@qut.edu.au.
