Where
Kelvin Grove campusThe QUT Digital Media Research Centre, in collaboration with the Australian Broadcasting Corporation, is hosting The Matter of Facts Student Forum, a timely and practical session spotlighting student experiences of misinformation, digital media and online worlds.
Inspired, in part, by the new ABC three-part documentary series The Matter of Facts, hosted by Hamish Macdonald, this interactive session will help students understand how misinformation spreads and what they can do to navigate today’s complex digital information landscape with confidence.
Through practical, hands-on activities, students will also build their knowledge of journalism and media production, with an opportunity to create their own media content through a creative reporting, media making and storytelling challenge.
Students will have the chance for their creations to be featured on QUT online channels, highlighting their perspectives and experiences about the digital worlds they occupy.
If you are are a Year 11 or 12 student, and have an interest in all things digital, from the news and video games to social media and artificial intelligence, and want to build practical, media skills, then this is the event for you!
