Step 9: Submit your application to QUT

Submit your:

  • application form
  • research proposal
  • CV (curriculum vitae) or resume
  • supporting documents, including those needed for any scholarships you're applying for.

Australian and New Zealand students

Online application form

If you're an Australian citizen or permanent resident, or a New Zealand citizen, you can apply online.

If you prefer, you can:

  1. Complete a paper-based Research degree application form for domestic students (PR form)  (PDF file, 187.75 KB) .
  2. Submit it by email, post or in person to our Research Students Centre.

International students

  1. Complete an Application for admission to QUT as an international student in a research program (FR form) (PDF file, 247.17 KB) .
  2. Email it to International Admissions.

Student visa framework

The Department of Immigration and Border Protection has introduced the simplified student visa framework (SSVF) from 1 July 2016. We now assess the genuine temporary entrant (GTE) requirements for all international applicants.

Self-funded applicants should be aware that we may request additional information to help assess your eligibility on a case-by-case basis.

Check if you need to use a QUT official representative (PDF file, 71.07 KB) to lodge your application. If so, you can find a representative or agent online. Some agents may charge a fee.
