Overview
In this project, students will analyse data from a study comparing two ways of learning cell biology: creating diagrams independently or using AI‑generated drafts. The analysis will focus on both learning outcomes and student perceptions of prompting and AI use. The data generated may contribute to a future research publication.
Research engagement
You will be involved in many areas of a research project, from design of data collection instruments to data collection and data analysis. You will also use your research skills to both analyse data and help formulate a publication.

You will be working closely with your supervisors on questions and data from surveys and focus groups as well as helping to draft a paper.

Outcomes
The aim of this project is to compare learning outcomes and student perceptions across AI‑assisted and student‑constructed diagram tasks in cell biology. By analysing assessment data and student feedback, the project will explore how prompting AI changes engagement with course content. It is expected to clarify whether AI enhances learning or reduces the depth of cognitive processing.
