Postgraduate qualifications can help you progress your nursing career, but if cost of living concerns are making you hesitate a scholarship could make the difference by giving you the help you need.
Primary health care is having a moment with lots of support available, especially for rural and remote nurses. However, this list could also help you search for scholarships across a range of specialisations including aged care nursing, wound care, and research.
Australia-wide scholarships
The Australian College of Nurses (ACN) provides grants and support for established nurses looking to develop their skills. They offer scholarships for a range of different areas and circumstances.
Visit the ACN list of grants, awards and programs to see the full list of support offerings and check back at different times of the year as not all programs are open at the same time.

For Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island students it’s worth checking the scholarships offered by the Indigenous Allied Health Alliance as there may be a scholarship to fit your study goals.
The Australian Government also lists nursing and allied health scholarships however many of their scholarships are administered through the ACN.
Queensland scholarships
If you are providing primary health care in a rural or remote location in Queensland you may be eligible for the Health Workforce Scholarship Program.
