Medicine seminars

There will be two medicine seminars taking place at Kelvin Grove campus. You can hear the latest information about the QUT Medical Program, entry requirements and what supports will be available for students.

Here are the seminar details:

  • 11.00-11.20am, W Block Room 201, Kelvin Grove
  • 2.00-2.20pm, W Block Room 201, Kelvin Grove

A group of people in a large lecture theatre listen to a female presenter deliver a seminar.

There will be opportunities to ask questions at the end of the seminar. If you still need more information you can visit the health tent at Kelvin Grove to chat with medicine academics.

Tour the Clinical Simulation Centre

Currently our nursing  and paramedic science students use these state-of-the-art facilities at Kelvin Grove to develop their clinical skills.

A current nursing student demonstrates how students learn using interactive, life-sized human dummies in hospital beds.

There are rooms that simulate real-life hospital wards and clinical skills rooms where students can practice techniques. These are some of the facilities our future medical students will be learning in.

Explore biomedical science experiments and displays

Biomedical science is the science that underpins medicine. It’s through biomedical science research and innovation that we develop new medical treatments and advance our understanding of disease.

At Kelvin Grove campus you can visit the H Block wet lab and see biomedical research displays.

At Gardens Point campus the Q Block laboratories will be featuring biomedical science experiments and research.

Future medical students will take classes from biomedical science academics on topics like infection control and anatomy.

Come and meet some of your future professors and explore the science that supports medicine.

Take a campus tour

General campus tours are a great way to vibe check a university. You can see where you could be studying, explore the services that are available, and hear from current students what they like most about the campuses.

Campus tours will be running all day at both Kelvin Grove and Gardens Point campus. If you think your day will be busy enough you can always take a virtual campus tour to get an idea of what QUT is like.

A tour group stands in a modern atrium under a giant, digitally lit sphere. They are listening to a guide explaining how the space is used.

Talk to staff at the tent

This year QUT medicine academics will be available at the Kelvin Grove Health tent to answer questions.

A lot of the information they have to share will be available in the medicine seminars. However if you can't make the seminars or you have additional questions it's a great idea to stop by the tent. You will also be able to talk to academic staff from other areas you may be interested in and you can ask current QUT students about their experiences.

Talk to an adviser

If you don't think you can attend Open Day this year and you need help deciding on the best pathway for you QUT has advisers that offer real-time advice on ways into uni, study options and entry requirements.

You can talk to an adviser by online chat, phone or book a free phone appointment.

How to plan your day

Open day is busy! There is a lot to do across two campuses. We recommend looking at the program available on the QUT Open Day page to see everything that's happening.

Closer to the event you will be able to download the QUT Open Day Planner. This app will help you get organised and plan exactly what you want to see.
