QUT Business School has reaffirmed its place among the world’s leading business schools, successfully achieving reaccreditation from the prestigious EFMD Quality Improvement System (EQUIS) for a further five years.
The recognition continues QUT’s long-standing reputation for excellence in business education and research and strengthens its status as one of Australia’s few business schools to hold the coveted “Triple Crown” of international accreditations.
The Triple Crown means QUT Business School is accredited by the three major international bodies: AACSB, AMBA, and EQUIS. This prestigious status places QUT among the top 1% of business schools globally.
The accreditation means students at QUT Business School, including those completing the Executive MBA program, can be confident their degree will be recognised and coveted by international employers.
EQUIS accreditation is one of the most rigorous and respected quality benchmarks for business schools worldwide. Awarded by the European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD), it evaluates institutions against demanding standards across governance, programs, student experience, research, and engagement with the corporate world.
Professor Sharon Christensen, Executive Dean of the QUT Faculty of Business and Law, said the reaccreditation was a powerful endorsement of QUT’s strategic direction and impact.

“We are delighted to have secured another five years of EQUIS accreditation, a global recognition that affirms the quality and relevance of our education, research, engagement, and impact.”
“The review team commended our clear strategy and priorities for the years ahead, which gives us real confidence as we continue to strengthen our impact for students, industry, and society.”
“It also strengthens our commitment to building QUT’s global presence, extending our international collaborations and influence so that our education and research deliver impact well beyond Australia.”
This commitment to excellence is reflected in QUT’s Executive MBA (EMBA) program, which continues to attract senior professionals seeking to advance their leadership and strategic capabilities.
For Executive MBA graduate Diana Urbina, QUT’s global reputation was a decisive factor.
“The Triple Crown accreditation and excellent rankings were the top decision drivers for me when deciding where to do my Executive MBA,” Diana said. “The flexible delivery mode suited my lifestyle at the time as well, but knowing I’d graduate with a globally recognised degree was very important.
Born in Colombia and doing her early education in the United States, Diana initially came to Australia on a one-year exchange program 13 years ago but has now made Australia her home, firstly in Brisbane, and now in Sydney.

The QUT Executive MBA is delivered in Brisbane and designed for senior professionals who want to elevate their leadership, lead with purpose, and expand their influence.
The program runs over two years part-time, combining intensive three-day, face-to-face learning blocks each month with flexible online components, allowing students to balance work, life, and study.
Structured into three stages, the Executive MBA covers business foundations, advanced strategy, and leadership, with global immersion opportunities and a diverse, experienced cohort enriching every discussion.
Diana said the QUT Executive MBA gave her both practical tools and global perspectives that have enriched her work as a Business Development Manager on the International Desk of HSBC.
“It was a great opportunity to learn not only soft skills like relationship-building, but also hard skills in strategy, business law, and commercial contracts,” she said. “Those skills have proven invaluable in my career.”
“QUT’s Executive MBA gave me the confidence to navigate complex situations and lead with assurance.” One of the program’s defining features, the international study tour, offered Diana hands-on learning and exposure to global business environments.
“Having that study tour and being able to pitch live to companies was one of the most meaningful experiences I had from the EMBA,” she recalled. “It gave me invaluable global exposure and helped form lasting partnerships with international businesses.”
With EQUIS reaccreditation secured, QUT Business School is poised to build further on its global partnerships and real-world impact. For its students, the achievement reinforces the global value of their degree.
