Eligibility details
You must:
- be completing full-time doctoral-level research in media and communication
- successfully complete your PhD confirmation of candidature by 31 March of your second year (or the closest confirmation of candidature block)
- hold another form of scholarship or award.
We'll assess application by:
- the potential of your research project to make an outstanding contribution to the field
- your participation in the faculty's research culture
- your orderly and timely progression through to the confirmation milestone.
What you receive
You'll receive:
- a top-up award of $5,000 each year for the final two years of your research study, to supplement your existing scholarship.
Support for part-time study is available pro-rata.
How to apply
You must nominate your intention to apply for this scholarship by contacting the Creative Industries Faculty Research Office.
What happens next
Your application will be assessed by a selection panel that includes:
- the Head of Postgraduate Research Students
- the Discipline Leader for Journalism, Media and Communication
- a nominee from the Faculty Research Group
- Emeritus Professor Tom Dixon, or nominee.
They'll assess your application against the selection criteria.
If you're successful, we'll notify you by April 30.
Conditions
To keep your scholarship, you must:
- provide annual progress reports on your thesis
- meet with the scholarship donor at least once a year.
