The key tenets of cultural safety are foregrounded for decolonising social work knowledge to produce culturally safe and anti-oppressive practice through recognition of diverse perspectives. Attention is given diverse contexts relating to gender, sexuality, age, race and ethnicity in light of students’ own socio-cultural positioning, professional identities and organisational and community contexts. The unit enables the development of knowledge, skills, values and dispositions for working inclusively with cultural difference and diversity as critical approaches for students to better understand the nature and construction of social problems and formulate gender and culturally specific change responses.","title-full":"SWB322 Gender, Diversity and Cultural Safety","title-short":"Gender, Diversity and Cultural Safety","url":{"current":"https://qutvirtual4.qut.edu.au/group/student/enrolment/units/unit?unitCode=SWB322&year=2024","prospective":"https://www.qut.edu.au/study/unit?unitCode=SWB322","timetable":"https://qutvirtual3.qut.edu.au/qvpublic/ttab_unit_search_p.process_teach_period_search?p_unit_cd=SWB322"},"year":2024,"years":[2024]}
