As the internet has become more vital to business, government and society, difficult legal and policy questions have arisen about its governance. This unit will consider the application of existing legal principles to the internet, as well as newly developed sui generis principles and governance regimes. Knowledge of these legal issues is of increasing importance in many areas of legal practice, industry and to society more generally. This unit is a core unit for the new Law, Technology and Innovation minor and a general law elective for the undergraduate law degree. It will be beneficial to you if you are intending to practise in media and communications, intellectual property or technology law, or another area of law that involves significant interaction online. This unit will also be beneficial if you intend to work in the public sector in relation to the regulation of technology and communications networks.","title-full":"LLB345 Regulating the Internet","title-short":"Regulating the Internet","url":{"current":"https://qutvirtual4.qut.edu.au/group/student/enrolment/units/unit?unitCode=LLB345&year=2022","prospective":"https://www.qut.edu.au/study/unit?unitCode=LLB345","timetable":"https://qutvirtual3.qut.edu.au/qvpublic/ttab_unit_search_p.process_teach_period_search?p_unit_cd=LLB345"},"year":2022,"years":[2022]}
