This unit integrates the knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy and pathophysiology gained from PUB100 and the basic processes of coding gained from PUB101 to build an understanding of the way to interpret documented diagnoses, procedures and interventions. This more advanced understanding will be applied to abstraction of clinical details from hospital documentation and application of knowledge of coding processes and the Australian Coding Standards in a practical setting. The importance of coding quality and techniques for quality assessments will be introduced. The relationship between coding and hospital funding will also be discussed, as will be uses of coded data to report on health issues.","title-full":"PUB202 Advanced Clinical Classification","title-short":"Advanced Clinical Classification","url":{"current":"https://qutvirtual4.qut.edu.au/group/student/enrolment/units/unit?unitCode=PUB202&year=2024","prospective":"https://www.qut.edu.au/study/unit?unitCode=PUB202","timetable":"https://qutvirtual3.qut.edu.au/qvpublic/ttab_unit_search_p.process_teach_period_search?p_unit_cd=PUB202"},"year":2024,"years":[2024]}
