What you'll receive

You'll receive an ongoing scholarship to cover 20% of your tuition fees per semester of study at QUT, provided you meet the ongoing conditions of your eligible course.

Eligibility

You must:

  • meet the academic entry requirements
  • have an eligible nationality
  • meet minimum English language entry requirements for the course
  • be commencing the course for the first time
  • receive an admission offer letter into one of the eligible courses.

Note: other factors (e.g. educational disruption, medical circumstances, financial needs) will not be taken into consideration for this scholarship - eligibility is solely determined on your academic record.

You're not eligible if you receive another QUT academic scholarship.

You won't be reconsidered for the scholarship if you are returning to your prior course of study at QUT.

How to apply

You don't need to apply for this scholarship.

We will automatically assess your qualifications provided in your application when you apply to study at QUT or when you progress to the next course in your QUT package offer.

What happens next?

If you are eligible, you'll receive a scholarship offer along with your admissions offer letter.

If you don't receive a scholarship and you have not commenced your studies as per your offer letter, ask your agent to request a review of your application. If you have applied without an agent, reply to your offer email requesting a scholarships review. All review requests must include a statement on why you believe you have qualified for the scholarship and supporting documentation, including overall grade point average and grading scale information as issued by the awarding institution.

Conditions

To keep your scholarship, you must:

  • maintain satisfactory academic progress throughout your course
  • remain admitted and enrolled in your course
  • hold a valid Australian international visa.

You can take QUT-approved leave of absence but only after you have completed one semester of study. You won't receive scholarship payments during this time. You may continue to receive the scholarship upon return to your studies if all other terms and conditions are met and you return by the approved leave end date.

You can't hold this scholarship if:

  • you receive a sponsorship, scholarship or similar from another organisation or government entity

  • you obtain Australian permanent resident status or become an Australian and/or New Zealand citizen
  • you withdraw from your course or fail to enrol in your course following completion of an approved Leave of Absence period
  • you no longer hold a valid Australian international visa
  • you engage in behaviour that breaches the QUT Student Code of Conduct, where if proven would be regarded as student misconduct. The required standards of behaviour are contained within the Academic Integrity Policy, the QUT Code for Responsible Conduct of Research, and the Acceptable Use of Information and Communications Technology Resources Policy.

About the scholarship

This scholarship is awarded to international students who have met the nationality and academic requirements and continue to achieve high standards for the duration of their studies.

It applies to eligible courses upon successfully satisfying all conditions outlined in the admission offer letter.
