What you'll receive
You'll receive a one-time bursary of $500 to assist with accessing gender-affirming care and support.
Eligibility
You must be one of the following:
- an Australian citizen (including dual citizens)
- a permanent resident of Australia
- a permanent humanitarian visa holder
- a New Zealand citizen.
You must also:
- be currently enrolled as a student at QUT
- identify as trans or gender diverse
- not have received this bursary before.
The Gender Affirmation Bursary provides gender affirmation support by helping eligible students cover costs associated with updating personal and legal documents to reflect their gender identity.
Who can't apply
- single-unit study student - studying an individual unit at QUT, but not enrolled in a QUT course
- cross-institutional student - enrolled in a course at another university, but studying specific units at QUT and receiving advanced standing towards your course at the other university
- international students.
