What you'll receive

Equity Work Integrated Learning (WIL) Bursary

You'll receive a one-time payment of either $300, $600, $900 or $1,200. The amount you will receive will be determined by QUT based on the duration of your placement.

Students can only receive one Equity Work Integrated (WIL) Bursary per teaching period cluster (Semester 1, Semester 2, and Summer).

Equity Work Integrated Learning (WIL) Relocation Bursary

You'll receive a one-time payment of either $1,500, $2,000, $2,500 or $3,000. The amount you will receive will be determined by QUT based on the duration of your placement.

Students can only receive one Equity Work Integrated (WIL) Relocation Bursary per teaching period cluster (Semester 1, Semester 2, and Summer).

Eligibility

How to apply

To be considered for a bursary, you must submit an application online:

You should only submit an application when you are nearing the commencement date of your placement. We may decline to consider your application if you are applying for a WIL bursary too far in advance of your placement commencement date.

As part of your application, you will be required to provide QUT with:

• if evidencing receipt of a Centrelink or DVA payment, your Centrelink Customer Reference Number (CRN), Centrelink Income Statement, DVA General Statement of Pension, or DVA Payment Summary
• if evidencing receipt of a valid low-income Centrelink Health Care Card, a photo or scan of your valid low-income Centrelink Health Care Card
• if evidencing loss of earnings, a signed and dated letter from your employer on official company letterhead, an official pay summary that shows consumed leave during your placement period, or pay slips from before and during your placement period which clearly shows a reduction in earnings
• if evidencing receipt of a QUT equity-based scholarship or bursary, a letter of offer or remittance advice from QUT.

What happens next?

An assessor will review your application and the documents provided and provide you with an outcome within two weeks from the date of application. If further information is requested from you, this may delay the outcome of your application.

If you are successful in receiving a bursary, payment will be made to you as soon as possible after your outcome is issued and after we have received your bank details.

Payments

Bursary amounts are determined based on the duration of your placement:

Equity WIL Bursary

• If your placement is up to 1 week in length, you may receive $300.
• If your placement is up to 2 weeks in length, you may receive $600.
• If your placement is up to 3 weeks in length, you may receive $900.
• If your placement is more than 3 weeks in length, you may receive $1,200.

Equity WIL Relocation Bursary

• If your placement is up to 2 weeks in length, you may receive $1,500.
• If your placement is up to 4 weeks in length, you may receive $2,000.
• If your placement is up to 6 weeks in length, you may receive $2,500.
• If your placement is more than 6 weeks in length, you may receive $3,000.
