QUT Dean's Award for Engineering, Design, & Indigenous Australian Students

The Faculty of Engineering would like to offer the students of your school the QUT Dean’s Award for Engineering Prize, which rewards a year 11 and a year 12 Engineering, Design and Indigenous Australian Queensland* student with the highest academic result in their cohort.

QUT Dean’s Award for Engineering & Design Prize  2026

• The Year 11 Engineering or Design subject prize includes a $50 JB Hi-Fi voucher and a certificate.
• The Year 12 Engineering or Design subject prize includes a $100 JB Hi-Fi voucher and a certificate. In addition, the subject winner will be eligible for the Dean’s Award for High School Achievement. The Dean’s Award is a $3,000 study bursary paid in the first semester of 2026 for prize-winning students who enrol in a full-time QUT Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in the following areas:
  • All majors in Engineering
  • All majors in Architecture & Built Environment 
  • Diploma in Architectural Studies/Bachelor of Architectural Design
  • Diploma in Architectural Studies/Bachelor of Built Environment
  • Diploma in Engineering/Bachelor of Engineering 

QUT Dean’s Award for Indigenous Australian Students 2026

• The criteria for the Dean's Award for Indigenous Australian Students is the same as above.

• This initiative is a part of our Indigenous Australian Engagement Strategy in the Faculty of Engineering, which seeks to inspire and motivate Indigenous Australian students to consider and continue to pursue careers in Engineering and Design.

Bursary conditions

• The prize winners of all year 12 Engineering or Design are eligible for this bursary.
• Students cannot defer the bursary offer.
• Bursary can also be applied to Diploma of Architectural Studies or Engineering 
• Students who receive a higher monetary scholarship or bursary offer, are not eligible for the study bursary (except for the Equity Scholarship).

The introduction of the Indigenous Australian awards means teachers can nominate 2 students per year level, per subject area, one Indigenous Australian and one non-Indigenous Australian student.
