Goodbye school, hello uni! Thousands of Year 12 graduates across Queensland have today found out if they have been accepted into university, with QTAC releasing the first major round of offers for the 2026 uni year.
For Gabrielle Worship, Belle Gundrum and Ajdin Dulic (pictured above) the good news arrived early: they all received an early offer from QUT the week they finished high school.
The trio have already accepted their offers and know they will be new QUT students next year.
They got a preview of uni life during 2025 when they took part in the QUT Future You Summit for Year 11 and 12 students and spent a week working with QUT researchers, lecturers and students.

Gabby will start her Bachelor of Science in February at QUT’s Gardens Point campus in inner Brisbane, with her best friend also starting a Bachelor of Business at the same campus.
“I found out about my uni offer on my graduation day – I was thrilled,” the St Thomas More College graduate said.
“I knew I wanted to do science from an early age, it’s always been a big fascination of mine.
“Even when I was 10-years-old I knew – I remember going on holidays with my family to the Great Barrier Reef and talking to marine scientists about coral.
“I definitely want to work in research and the practical parts of a biological/environmental science field, especially working in conservation.
“I know that protecting our native species and biodiversity is an important ongoing process. Even with any challenges that I may face, I still want to be a part of the progress – at any scale – knowing it will have some impact.”

Ajdin is a Rochedale State High graduate and has accepted an offer to start a Bachelor of Business / Bachelor of Information Technology double degree at QUT in 2026.
His mum also studied business at QUT and is an accountancy graduate.
“Business is a good foundation to enter the corporate world and IT backs that base with technical skills,” he said.
“I think this double degree will make me a hybrid with diverse skills.
“I’m very passionate about sales and marketing and I want to back that creative mindset with a technical mindset.”
Ajdin said he had enjoyed attending the Future You Summit and getting some early insights into uni.
“I was basically a QUT student for a week and got to talk to everyone and meet people and see around the campus,” he said.
“I love what QUT stands for and their motto as the university for the real world. They are based on innovation and want to equip you for the mass changes going on in the world right now.”

Belle has accepted a place in a double degree program – she will study a Bachelor of Business and Bachelor of Design (Fashion Design).
“Out of all the universities I looked into for a fashion major, QUT’s facilities were by far the best – they stood out immediately,” the All Hallows’ School graduate said.
“I’d been hoping to get into QUT since Year 9 when I learnt how to sew.
“I constantly talked with my family about my future in fashion and how excited I was. When I got the early offer, it was the day after graduation. Even that one night of uncertainty, being out of school and not knowing if I’d be accepted and what my future may hold, was terrifying. QUT was my goal and I couldn’t imagine not getting in.
“The morning I found out, I had just arrived at work and was ecstatic. I instantly called my dad and step-mum. The feeling of being accepted and no longer having to worry about my university path was an incredible feeling.”
Belle already has extensive experience in tailoring and sewing, having created wedding gowns, tailored suits and formal dresses through work experience.
She has also sewn props and costumes for a school musical and volunteered to make medical gowns for kids at a children’s hospital.
Inspired by ethical, sustainable and inclusive fashion principles, she has also researched and designed adaptive clothing for people with dexterity and physical impairments.
Belle said she was looking forward to meeting a community of students who shared similar interests.
“Over summer I’ve already started creating new garments and prototyping ideas that I hope to further develop during the course,” she said.
“I also do a lot of business marketing work with my current job at Miss Runway, which has been a great foundation for the business side of university.”
QTAC’s next major offer round for 2026 university places will be on January 15. People have until 11.45pm on January 6 to change their preferences if they want to update their course wish list in time for that round.
QUT will host an official Welcome Week for its new students from February 16 to 20, with Semester 1 of the 2026 uni year then kicking off on February 23.
