Overview

The uptake of electric vehicles is on the rise. This study undertakes a literature review of papers published on electric vehicles with a view to identify factors that influence their uptake and data sources. This information will then be used to develop a model to identify factors that are influencing the uptake of electric vehicles in Australia on a state basis and propose strategies that can further increase their uptake in the country. Policy implications of this new development in the change in the motor vehicle fleet in Australia are discussed.

Research activities

The student will review all papers published on electric vehicles with a view to develop a model that will statistically test a model that identifies factors influencing the update of electric vehicles in Australia. The student will work with Professor Clevo Wilson, Dr Ruchith  Dissanayake (QUT) and Minh Le (Bond University).

Outcomes

The literature review and the development of a model to explain the factors that influence the uptake of electric vehicles in Australia will lead to an honours thesis and an eventual paper to be published in a Q1 journal.
