QUT researchers have secured more than $15 million in Australian Research Council Future Fellowship funding, with 13 researchers awarded support for projects spanning renewable energy, robotics, artificial intelligence, advanced manufacturing, education, environmental science and disaster resilience.
QUT Deputy Vice-Chancellor - Research Professor Ian O'Hara said the result reflected the strength, diversity and impact of the university's research community.

The successful QUT researchers are:
- Associate Professor Branka Miljevic – real-time mass spectrometry for understanding marine aerosol processes.
- Associate Professor Anna Hogan – investigating school infrastructure, choice, leadership and equity in education.
- Dr Tobias Fischer – brain-inspired positioning systems for resilient and energy-efficient robotics.
- Professor Niko Sünderhauf – developing efficient, safe and adaptive robot learning.
- Dr Jiaye Ye – advancing next-generation redox flow battery technologies.
- Dr Xiaolei Shi – creating flexible thermoelectric materials for wearable power generation.
- Associate Professor Hendrik Frisch – developing more functional and degradable polymer materials.
- Dr Juan Bai – designing high-entropy catalysts for green hydrogen production.
- Dr Shahrouz Amini – investigating elastic energy storage in mineralised tissues.
- Professor Liangzhi Kou – applying machine learning to catalyst and membrane design.
- Professor Lei Zhang – developing sustainable single-cell protein production systems.
- Professor Angela Guerrero – strengthening collaborative governance for disaster preparedness.
- Dr Yuchen Zhang – improving renewable energy system learning and performance.
