QUT has again been recognised as the top university in Australia in communication and media studies, and is ranked 16th in the world.
In the latest QS Rankings, QUT ranks in the global top 50 for three subjects – communication and media studies, nursing, and art and design – and in the top 100 for ten subjects.
The 2021 QS subject ranking rates 1440 universities around the world on 51 subjects across five broad subject areas.
In the broad subject areas, QUT increased its ranking in engineering and technology, arts and humanities, life sciences and medicine, and natural sciences.
In the subject ranking, nursing jumped five places to 31st on the international list with strong scores for citations and the measure of research impact.
QUT Vice-Chancellor and President Professor Margaret Sheil said the ranking result was a pleasing recognition of QUT’s dedication to providing quality education and ensuring beneficial employment outcomes for our students, through practically oriented tuition and work-integrated learning.
“QUT’s continued strong performance in rankings is just one facet of success but it is an important recognition of the hard work of all our staff to provide quality education and research that has real world, global impact,” Professor Sheil said.
