Brisbane Festival
QUT is a sponsor of the Brisbane Festival in 2026, supporting one of SouthEast Queensland’s largest celebrations of arts and culture. The festival is powered in part by QUT alumni, including:

QUT Entrepreneurship: Future Focus Forum
What should QUT Entrepreneurship look like next year? We are keen to hear from you as we define our plans for 2027. Join us for a one-hour focus group to co-design our future programs and events. This is a hands-on working session where your ideas can directly shape what comes next, from workshops and events to how we support founders, thinkers, and doers across the university.

Game Changers in conversation with QUT Alumnus Gail Sorronda
Few Australian designers have built a career quite like Gail Sorronda. At a time when emerging designers gravitated towards international fashion capitals and relentless seasonal cycles, Sorronda chose a different path, forging an independent label from Brisbane with a following beyond Australia through her signature aesthetic, creative vision and sense of purpose.
Over 2 decades, she has established a distinctive presence in Australian fashion, demonstrating that a fashion label can thrive from Brisbane without compromising its identity or vision.
Join Gail Sorronda in conversation as she reflects on entrepreneurship and the realities of sustaining an independent fashion label. From building a recognisable brand to navigating an evolving industry, she will reflect on the lessons, challenges and opportunities that have shaped her career.
This conversation will be facilitated by Alison Kubler. Game Changers is a Queensland Business Leaders Hall of Fame initiative presented by State Library of Queensland and QUT.
