He is also a Senior Research Fellow at the Australian Centre for Health Services Innovation (AusHSI) and Centre for Healthcare Transformation (CHT). Additionally, Dr Kularatna is the Academic Lead Post Graduate Research for School of Public Health and Social Work. Dr Kularatna has a clinical and public health backgrounds before completing his PhD in health economics. His main interests are in heart disease related patient reported outcomes including utility values and quality adjusted life years. His other research includes, Economic evaluations, Decision making in health care, Markov modelling, discrete event simulation modelling and predictive modelling using in health services data. He is experienced in developing preference-based instruments, health state valuations, time trade off and, discrete choice experiments. He has worked in research projects improving health care for Indigenous and Torres Islander communities. To date, Dr Kularatna has successfully procured over 15 million dollars in competitive research funding, and has over 60 academic research publications. His current research agenda centres on designing predictive models in heart disease, patient preference using discrete choice experiments and discrete event simulation modelling.Contact
