Dr Ogan Yigitbasioglu

Biography
I am an internationally recognised accounting scholar taking a cross-disciplinary approach to address critical issues in the use of technology in organisations. My key focus is the effective implementation, evaluation and governance of digitalisation efforts to support organisational missions in for-profits and not-for profits. My articles appeared in journals such as the International Journal of Accounting Information Systems, British Accounting Review, Accounting, Auditing & Accountability Journal, Financial Accountability & Management, Accounting Forum, Technological Forecasting and Social Change and Accounting & Finance. I serve on the Editorial Board of the Journal of Accounting & Organizational Change. I am also a member of the AFAANZ Conference Technical Committee.I bring extensive leadership and teaching experience to my academic practice, having served as Subject Area Coordinator (Programme Director) of the Undergraduate Accountancy major at QUT. My research has attracted grants totalling over $90,000 in Australia (including CAANZ and AFAANZ), US (IMA) and Finland from both the public and private sector. I have supervised more than 20 PhD/MPhil theses to completion. I am keen to supervise students with a background in commerce and an interest in emerging technologies like Artificial Intelligence and blockchain.
I hold a PhD and MSc in Accounting Information Systems from Hanken School of Economics (EQUIS, AACSB, AMBA) in Finland. I have certificates from Aalto University (Network Technologies), QUT (Graduate Certificate in Academic Practice), London School of Economics (Machine Learning) and Harvard Business School (Business Analytics). I am a member of the European Accounting Association and Accounting & Finance Association of Australia and New Zealand.
