Experience
Julius Agbeve is the Data Manager for the Allergy Research Group at the Centre for Immunology and Infection Control, Queensland University of Technology (QUT). He develops data governance frameworks and research infrastructure that enable high-quality, secure, and accessible data to support cutting-edge research in allergy and immunology.
Prior to July 2025, Julius was the Data Manager and Data Lead for the National Allergy Centre of Excellence (NACE) at QUT, where he implemented governance and data systems underpinning Australia’s first National Allergy Biorepository and Registry (ALBI). His leadership at NACE established national standards for secure, interoperable, and harmonized data to advance allergy research. He also held an appointment as an Honorary Research Associate at the Murdoch Children’s Research Institute.
With more than 17 years of experience in health informatics, clinical data management, and analytics across Queensland Health and academia, Julius has built large-scale health information systems that enable collaborative research, privacy-preserving data linkage, and advanced analytics at state and national levels. His expertise spans data governance, metadata standards, and regulatory compliance, with a strong focus on data quality, interoperability, and ethical use of health data.
He has also led enterprise-wide analytics projects within Queensland Health, delivering solutions that improved patient safety and supported statewide decision-making. Julius is a certified health informatician and holds qualifications in Information Technology and Analytics.
