Biography
Lecturer in Mechanical Engineering Discipline, specializing in renewable energy & sustainability, sustainable advanced manufacturing practices, and industrial management. My teaching philosophy emphasizes learner-centered, experiential, and transformative education, guided by the 4Cs and 1R framework—communication, collaboration, creativity, critical thinking, and reflection. I act as a coach and mentor, fostering real-world problem-solving and authentic assessment.
I coordinate and teach postgraduate and undergraduate units such as Leadership in Energy Management & Sustainability, Advanced Manufacturing and Industrial Automation, Digital Manufacturing, Engineering Knowledge Management, and Total Quality Management. My teaching integrates agile leadership, sustainability, and digital technologies, supported by innovative learning activities and industry-linked projects. I have supervised over 43 capstone projects and received multiple recognitions for teaching and project supervision excellence at QUT.
My research methodology integrates computational modeling, experimental validation, and systems thinking to address challenges in renewable energy and advanced manufacturing. I employ Monte Carlo ray tracing, CFD, and finite element modeling alongside prototyping and performance evaluation to develop innovative solutions for energy and manufacturing systems.
My research spans green energy (solar thermal and biofuel) technologies, nano-engineering for biomedical applications, and Industry 4.0/5.0 adoption in manufacturing. I have published over 30 peer-reviewed articles, two book chapters, and 10 conference papers, with a strong presence in Q1 journals. I have secured over AU$129K in research income from QUT and CSIRO and contributed to multi-million-dollar projects such as the Australia–India Strategic Research Fund. I am actively seeking HDR students in areas including renewable energy, digital transformation, and sustainable manufacturing. My future research aims to strengthen industry collaborations and advance circular economy practices. I am the leader of the proposed research group, QuT-SPIES (Questing Techniques for Sustainability in Production Industries and Energy Systems) at QUT.
Current research projects include, Bio-future Australia: Advancing Sustainable Aviation Fuel and Renewable Diesel through Integrated Feedstock Strategies, and Growing Manufacturing in Australia – A New Approach.
