Dr Akhilandeshwari Ravichandran

Faculty of Engineering,
School of Mech., Medical & Process Engineering
Biography
Dr Ravichandran is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the ARC Training Centre for Cell and Tissue Engineering Technologies at Queensland University of Technology (QUT), Australia. She graduated her Bachelors in Bioengineering from SASTRA University, India, followed by a PhD in the School of Chemical and Biomedical Engineering, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. Since 2018, she has been working in the Centre in Regenerative Medicine group at QUT, with Dr. Laura Bray and Prof. Dietmar Hutmacher. Here, she has been conducting interdisciplinary research in the fields of tissue engineering, biomaterials, mechanics, and large animal histology. Her current research projects aim to explore the utility of scaffolds, hydrogels, and bioreactors for mimicking the native tissue structure and function, with a goal of engineering relevant 3D tissue models.
