Robotics competition for high school students
MechMayhem is a high-energy, high school robotics competition and outreach initiative led by the QUT Aerospace Society. Held during Queensland Space Week at QUT’s Gardens Point Campus, the event challenges student teams to design, build, and battle their own combat robots in a fast-paced, arena-style tournament.
Whether you’re new to robotics or already obsessed with building things that move, smash, and survive, MechMayhem is your chance to get hands-on with real engineering challenges, work alongside like-minded students, and connect with university clubs and industry mentors. You’ll explore robotics and control systems, experience what studying engineering at QUT is really like, and prove your robot has what it takes to be the last one standing.
Registrations are not yet open, but schools and students are encouraged to register their interest to stay informed about key dates, workshops, and team signups.
