Eligibility

To compete in the QUT High School Moot Competition you must be:

  • in Year 11 or 12 and enrolled in high school as a full-time student at the time of the moot competition rounds
  • given permission by your teacher
  • from a school located in Queensland or northern New South Wales
  • enthusiastic about law and networking opportunities
  • available to participate in person at the competition rounds.

Your team must:

  • consist of 2-3 students in total, from the same school
  • be accompanied by an adult teacher/mentor if they're participating in the competition rounds.

Teams can consist of any combination of students enrolled in Year 11 and 12, and a school can register up to two teams each year.

Up to two regional teams that qualify for the finals will be eligible to receive up to $1,500 per team (maximum four students and one teacher/mentor) to help contribute to their flights and transfers to Brisbane.

Note: not all regional teams will be provided with the travel bursary.  The teams to receive the travel bursary will be determined by the Mooting Chair once all registrations have been received.

If your school has an ICSEA under 1000 and you will be travelling to QUT, you may be eligible for support to subsidise your travel costs.
