The QUT Art Museum has celebrated its 10th birthday and a decade of being a cultural centrepiece of the Gardens Point campus.

About 350,000 people have explored the gallery since it opened in the year 2000 in U Block next to the City Botanic Gardens.

Gallery staff and patrons celebrated the 10th anniversary with birthday cupcakes and giveaways on May 18 - International Museums Day.

QUT Art Museum's current exhibition program is available at www.artmuseum.qut.edu.au.

The gallery, which specialises in contemporary art, is open to the public from 10am to 5pm on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, from 10am to 8pm on Wednesdays, and from 12noon to 4pm on Saturdays and Sundays. Admission is free.
