Learn to Lift

Learn to Lift is an affordable, 10‑week group program designed for those new to the gym, as well as anyone wanting to build confidence with resistance training and general exercise. With two guided sessions each week, delivered by qualified exercise professionals alongside QUT work‑integrated learning (WIL) students, you’ll learn correct technique, explore a range of exercises and develop the skills to train safely and independently in the gym.

Programs are available at both Gardens Point and Kelvin Grove, with our next program beginning in August 2026.

Adult Learn to Swim

Our Adult Learn to Swim program offers beginner and intermediate levels, supporting adults to build essential water safety skills and improve swimming technique. Delivered by qualified instructors, sessions are designed for those learning to swim for the first time, as well as those looking to increase confidence and capability in the water within a supportive environment.

Programs take place at our Gardens Point pool, with our next intake from July 2026.

Virtual cycling

Ride some of the world’s iconic courses without leaving the room in our purpose‑built Virtual Sport Studio at Gardens Point, just a short 1min walk from our gym in Y Block (next to Lady Harriet’s Bar and Kitchen).

The studio features 10 Wahoo KICKR bikes and immersive virtual racing and training environments, suitable for everyone from first‑time riders to high‑performance athletes. Whether you're chasing fitness, structured training or a competitive hit‑out, virtual cycling delivers a dynamic, indoor ride experience year‑round.

Virtual cycling sessions are included in select memberships, with limited complimentary sessions available for QUT students and staff who have activated their free QUT Sport membership.

International Student Water Safety Program

The International Student Water Safety Program supports QUT international students to build confidence and essential water safety skills for living and studying in Australia. Delivered by qualified instructors, the program combines theory and practical sessions and focuses on basic swimming skills, water awareness and practical safety knowledge. Students learn about beach safety, rip currents, lifejacket use and basic swimming skills.

All sessions are held at our indoor heated pool at Gardens Point.
