About the Future Cities Lab
The QUT Future Cities Lab is a dynamic, programmable city model that brings future urban technology to life. It supports interactive learning in Robotics, AI, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering and Software Systems Engineering, and connects with disciplines including architectural design, landscape architecture, urban planning and construction management.
What you’ll experience
- Brick-built buildings and infrastructure with RGB LEDs and audio cues to simulate real-world urban scenarios
- Programming and experimenting with robotic systems for traffic flow, environmental monitoring and emergency response
- An engaging, workshop-ready setup that highlights how engineering and the built environment collaborate in city-making
Workshop availability
With the generous support of industry sponsor McNab, we’ll be running workshops for approximately 18 months. The Future Cities Lab will be fully operational in Term 4.
