INTERACT-EOC: International Study of Adult Experiences and Care Priorities in Early‑Onset Cancer: a mixed‑methods study

What is the purpose of this research?

We are conducting this study to better understand the experiences and support needs of people living with and beyond an early-onset cancer diagnosis, including the challenges they face, the support they have received, and any unmet support needs.

Are you looking for people like me?

We are looking for people who were diagnosed with cancer between the ages of 20 and 49 years, received their cancer diagnosis and treatment in Australia, and currently live in Australia.

What will you ask me to do?

We invite you to complete an anonymous 20-minute online survey about your health, work or study experiences, and support needs. If you would like to share your experiences in more detail, you can indicate your interest in a one-on-one interview at the end of the survey.

Are there any risks for me in taking part?

A potential risk of participation is that recalling your health experiences or experiences of care may cause distress. If you feel uncomfortable answering any question, you may choose to skip it. Participation is voluntary, and you may withdraw from the study at any time before submitting your responses by closing your browser.

Are there any benefits for me in taking part?

Although there may be no direct benefit to you, your participation will help improve understanding of the support needs of people living with and beyond early-onset cancer and inform future services and programs. You will also have the option to receive a summary of the study findings.

Will I be compensated for my time?

You will not be compensated for completing the online questionnaire.
