What is the purpose of this research?
The purpose of this research is to explore the driving experiences of individuals with diabetes and its association with demographic characteristics and diabetes-related factors. This study is being conducted as part of a PhD project for Destaye Alemu.
Are you looking for people like me?
The research team is inviting individuals 18 years or older who have diabetes, have a valid driver licence, and have driven at least once in the last six months.
What will you ask me to do?
Your participation will involve completing a 15 minute questionnaire about your diabetes and driving experiences.
Are there any risks for me in taking part?
We do not anticipate any risks other than the minor inconvenience of answering questions about your health and driving experiences.
Are there any benefits for me in taking part?
There are no direct or immediate personal benefits. However, the information collected will contribute to a better understanding of driving experiences among people with diabetes.
Will I be compensated for my time?
Should you choose to participate, you will be invited to enter a prize draw (via a separate link, provided at the end of the survey, that is not connected to your survey responses) for a chance to win one of six $50 Coles/Myer e‑gift cards upon completion of the survey.
I am interested - what should I do next?
You will be provided with further information to ensure that your decision and consent to participate are fully informed.
