100 days of COVID-19

This project involved conducting a descriptive analysis of the first 100 days of COVID-19 in the Australian Twittersphere with grouping and coding. Weekly counts of the hashtags, mentions, and domains that were included in each tweet were calculated. The top 200 hashtags, mentions, and domains throughout the 100 day period were thematically coded into groups and subgroups (eg. for account mentions, if the account belonged to a politician it was assigned to the politician group, then sub-grouped by federal, state, local government). Frequencies of hashtags, mentions, and domains were visualised in an online app alongside COVID-19 case numbers in Australia.
