Body donation to QUT for scientific and medical purposes

The gift of your body makes a real difference to medical training and the innovations that can improve the lives of patients. To be able to examine a real human body is a privilege, and the ultimate gift that someone can give to science and medicine. By joining QUT's body bequest program, you will help to provide essential, high quality medical research, education and training for health professionals such as surgeons, doctors, nurses and allied health workers.

Applying to the program

The application process is very simple. Our body bequest information kit (PDF file, 914.9 KB) contains all relevant information about the program, acceptance procedures, the potential uses of your donation and the thanksgiving service which is held after your donation.

We invite you to contact our body bequest coordinator to discuss your donation and any questions you may have about the process, or if you prefer to receive the body bequest information kit by mail. The confidentiality of your information will be protected at all times.

Unfortunately, we are currently at maximum capacity and therefore unable to accept any body donations to QUT's body bequest program. In the event of a potential donor's passing during this period, we kindly ask the families to contact a funeral director to arrange the funeral.

We understand that this temporary pause of accepting body donations may cause distress at an already emotionally difficult time. We acknowledge the incredibly generous intention to donate to QUT's body bequest program, and we sincerely apologise that we cannot assist in executing your loved one's intention.

This message will be updated or removed as soon as we are able to accept donations again.

Thank you for your understanding.
