July and August have been busy months on campus, with a number of alumni involved in events including QUT Open Day, the 2026 Future You Summit, CareerCon and Faculty of science Deans scholars networking Event. See our article for a round up and some photos of each event.

QUT Open Day 2026

Thank you to all of our Alumni who joined us on Open Day as guest speakers or panellists across all our faculties.  We appreciate you sharing your career experiences, reflecting on your studies and inspiring young people to follow their passion and create their dream career journey.

2026 Future You Summit success

Thank you to our 30 alumni who took part in this year's four-day Future You Summit of workshops, talks and showcases for 305 school students from across Brisbane, Queensland and northern New South Wales. The Summit helped students understand real career pathways and gain insight into roles and industries, while feeling more confident about their university degree choices. Find out more.

Career Con

From 4-6 August, QUT CareerCon brought more than 1,000 students and industry together across three days of conversations, connections and plenty of practical career advice. From hearing directly from QUT Alumni and industry professionals to practising interviews, refining resumes and making those all-important connections, the event was a reminder that building a career is about more than finding the right job. A huge thank you to our alumni and industry partners for giving their time and helping make CareerCon such a success.

Faculty of Science Dean's Scholars networking event

The Faculty of Science Dean's Scholars Program welcomed Dean's Scholars, industry partners, Faculty staff and academic leaders to our annual Gala Evening, proudly co-hosted by CompNow. The evening focused on the power of meaningful connections, with Dean's Scholars engaging with industry representatives and alumni through networking, career conversations and shared experiences. CEISJ Alumni success event with Muraya Moore

Muraya attended a School of Creative arts class, (KYB320 Situated Creative Practice), which brings together students from film, acting, dance, visual arts, and other creative disciplines to produce music videos, social media campaigns, and television commercials (TVCs). At the meeting, Muraya shared her experience making the Specsavers x Flickerfest campaign advertisement and shared her tips and advice with the students.
