Andy Vesey, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, AGL will speak at the second QUT Business Leaders' Forum for 2018.
Andy Vesey | Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, AGL
Andy Vesey has been Managing Director and CEO of AGL, which has Australia’s largest electricity generation portfolio, since 2015. Andy is leading Australia's second oldest company and largest ASX listed owner, operator and developer of renewable energy to thrive in a carbon constrained future. Educated in New York, Andy has more than 30 years’ experience in the energy industry, including leadership of large energy organisations. He was the former Chief Operating Officer of US based major energy player AES Corporation, with responsibility for 20 countries.
In 2016, the Climate Alliance recognised Andy's leadership in addressing climate change opportunities and risks by naming him Business Leader of the Year. In 2017, he received the CEO of the Year Award from the S&P Global Platts Global Energy Awards and was identified as one of Australia's Business Persons of the Year by the Australian Financial Review.
Andy will speak about his personal leadership journey and address how AGL is embracing the transformation of global energy markets in Australia. Specifically, he will discuss how AGL intends to thrive in the low carbon economy by disrupting itself to provide customers with more choice through a personalised retailer model.
We again welcome as Moderator one of Australia's leading journalists, Kerry O'Brien.
