Biography
Dr. Sunil Srivastav is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in A/Prof Richard Gordon's lab in Faculty of Health, QUT, based at the Translational Research Institute in Brisbane, Australia. Dr. Srivastav earned his PhD in 2024 from Queensland Brain Institute at The University of Queensland, supported by the Australian Government Research Training Program (RTP) scholarship. His doctoral research focused on dopaminergic signaling and its role in neuropsychiatric disorders, particularly schizophrenia. He previously completed his Master's degree at Yeungnam University, South Korea, under the prestigious Korean Government Scholarship Program, investigating neuroprotective role of Probiotics in MPTP and rotenone models of Parkinson's disease. Currently, Dr. Srivastav is leading two major research initiatives:
- Development of a novel biomarker detection tool for Parkinson’s disease, aimed at enhancing early diagnosis and tracking disease progression.
- Investigation of the neuroprotective potential of Nibrozetone, a small molecule designed to counteract the effects of environmental and chemical toxicants increasingly linked to Parkinson’s disease.
