Biography
Dr Kate Kollar is a Research Operations Professional at Queensland University of Technology. Kate has more than 20 years of experience across biomedical research and research facility management.She began her career as a research assistant at the Victor Chang Cardiac Research Institute before completing a PhD in Biological and Biomedical Sciences at QUT. Her research focused on heart regeneration, including the use of stem cells to investigate new approaches to repairing damaged heart tissue. She later worked as a postdoctoral scientist in Germany and Australia before moving into scientific, laboratory, safety and research operations roles at The University of Queensland, Translational Research Institute and QUT.
In her current role, Kate leads the operations of a major research precinct, working with researchers, students, industry and university teams to support innovative research and create safe, collaborative research environments.
