Biography
Dr Freya Wright-Brough has recently commenced as a Lecturer in Learning & Teaching Development, Impact and Recognition within QUT’s Academy of Learning and Teaching (QALT). Prior to this, she taught in Film Screen and New Media in the School of Creative Practice and was a research assistant in the Creative Industries, Education and Social Justice Faculty. Freya’s background is in scriptwriting, having worked as a screenwriter for clients in the USA, UK and Australia contributing to digital and factual content. She completed her PhD in 2019 and her research has focussed on representation and ethical co-creation in screen media, particularly in digital narrative practice. She is also committed to learning and teaching. She was finalist in the Sessional teaching and Reflection Showcase (2017) and is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (2020). In 2019, her research team won a Vice-Chancellor’s Award for developing an arts-based post-school transition program pilot for increasing inclusion of refugee-background students in university.
