Dr Ella Chorazy

Ella Chorazy is PhD candidate at the Digital Media Research Centre under the supervision of Associate Professor Stephen Harrington and Professor Terry Flew. She graduated with distinction from a double undergraduate degree in Business (Public Relations) and Creative Industries (Media & Communication) and was awarded the University Medal. Ella is the recipient of several postgraduate research scholarships including an Australian Postgraduate Award, Creative Industries Top-Up Scholarship, and the Tom Dixon Scholarship and her thesis "Spin Un-Spun" is currently under examination. Her PhD research uses qualitative methods to explore perceptions and representations of political public relations in popular film and television. Ella is passionate about teaching and research and is keenly pursuing an academic career. She is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and has taught into a number of undergraduate units in the Creative Industries Faculty since 2010, as a tutor, lecturer, and unit coordinator. Her broad research interests span the fields of political communication, public relations, popular culture and media studies. Ella has presented her work at international conferences and is currently preparing several manuscripts for publication. She has been a QUT Student Ambassador since 2007 and is actively involved in the university's community as both a staff member and student.
