This four-day course on Lean Six Sigma is part of our training series on business process management. It provides a comprehensive coverage of the Six Sigma DMAIC approach (define, measure, analyse, improve and control) while incorporating the principles of lean management.
The course content is aligned with the Universally Accepted Lean Six Sigma Body of Knowledge for Green Belts, developed by the International Association for Six Sigma Certification (IASSC). At the end of the course, you will receive instructions on how to prepare for the Six Sigma Green Belt certification exam based on this body of knowledge.
This course will benefit those who wish to acquire or strengthen Lean Six Sigma capabilities. It covers topics relevant for IT staff and business personnel involved in process improvement or lean initiatives, and executives involved in process management and strategic development projects.

Improving business processes is on top of the agenda for chief and senior executives. This requires a solid understanding of current and future business processes and their alignment with business objectives. Process improvement includes identifying and improving business processes in an organisation.
Lean Six Sigma is a rigorous and disciplined methodology that uses organisational data and statistical analysis to measure and improve the performance of an organisation's business processes. The objectives are to:
During this course, hands-on case studies will provide you with direct exposure to common process issues that can be fixed through the application of the DMAIC (define, measure, analyse, improve and control) approach. Various statistical analysis techniques will be presented throughout the course and put into practice via supervised exercises.
The agenda follows the Lean Six Sigma Body of Knowledge for Green Belt from the International Association for Six Sigma Certification (IASSC). There are various exams available for Lean Six Sigma certification, but due to the alignment with the IASSC program, we suggest sitting the IASSC exam. As part of our course, we will illustrate the structure of this exam and provide material to assist in studying for the exam. You will, however, need to integrate the content presented in the course with the material provided, and study this thoroughly in your own time, in order to pass the exam.
The certification exam is not administered by QUT. This exam incurs an extra fee. You can find out more about the exam, including structure, duration and costs, on the BPM Training site.
You will receive a certificate of attendance upon completion of this course.
Registration closes two weeks before each course start date, unless sold out.
