Quantitative and qualitative techniques are used as the basis for learning structural analysis. Construction Managers must have the ability to analyse engineering components and have a sound understanding of how a structure achieves structural stability through load paths. Furthermore, Construction Managers are required to interpret engineering designs and convert the designer's intent and components specified, into a project. This demands proper understanding of structural actions and basic design and analysis of simple structures to ensure economy and safety. This unit introduces these concepts and builds upon knowledge of materials from UXB112 Introduction to Structures. It develops the learning skills to manage increasingly complex projects in later units.","title-full":"UXB212 Design for Structures","title-short":"Design for Structures","url":{"current":"https://qutvirtual4.qut.edu.au/group/student/enrolment/units/unit?unitCode=UXB212&year=2022","prospective":"https://www.qut.edu.au/study/unit?unitCode=UXB212","timetable":"https://qutvirtual3.qut.edu.au/qvpublic/ttab_unit_search_p.process_teach_period_search?p_unit_cd=UXB212"},"year":2022,"years":[2022]}
