It focuses on three broad areas of professional quantity surveying and cost engineering and in doing so, considers the similarities and differences across Quantity Surveying and Cost Engineering. Firstly, what it means to be a professional is considered including image and status, fees, codes of ethics, professional competence and continuing professional development. Secondly, ways in which professionals engage with a workplace including terms of appointment are explored.
